- this is Berry. Short for Bartleby.
- he's very protective of Devyn as she is with him, and unlike the other
people around her, Berry actually makes it a point to show it.
- Dev and Berry did swimming together as a sort of alternative to
juvenile rehab, the point being to occupy her time in order to keep
her from trouble, supposedly.
- For Berry though, it was to help him with his asthma. Yes, he's asthmatic
- with no intention of quitting to smoke
- Berry's a few years her senior but they were in the same year because
Berry stopped school for a year to help care for his ailing mother.
- Dev had a thing for him (and it still endures up to the present) but doesn't
know he's secretly into dudes, so she's reading their relationship
as strictly platonic to respect Berry's reactions towards her advances.
- The feelings are still there, but she keeps them bottled up for the sake of
their friendship.
- the last time they "saw" each other was the day before Dev and her dad
went on a trip, and never heard from him since. Funny story.

- I would like to explore Devyn's romantic and sexual aspect
- they don't have to end up together, but for him to maybe experience
something of a genuine attraction towards Devyn at one point (in Mater, or
in a flashback), but then realizes he's really into corn dogs rather than waffles
- for the playby to be either be Jeremy Sumpter or Gaspard Ulliel. Jaco VanDen
Hoven, Eric Lively and Matt Dallas are fine choices as well.
