*FELIX JAMES HATHAWAY
eccentric, caring, dreamer, hopeless romantic
here is felix. he's a forty-five year old who's miraculously survived, and managed to get himself into mater. before patient zero dropped a bomb, he was a chemist for a university, and getting paid to carry out experiments to classes, and for research. besides that, he was also a famous author- that was under a penn name, of course, considering he didn't care much for publicity, but he lived a lot better than most had. which was, by the way, in blackpool, england. that's right, he's a british boy, and he loves playing his accent into his favour whenever he can. even if it's just for shiggles.
he lost everything but his two calico kitties, shock and lock. and if it wasn't for his family being so large, he'd have already gotten over the fact that they were dead. he's more of a realistic kind of person, you see. he tells the truth for what it is, and half the time, it's depressing. he doesn't mind getting monotone about things, or discussing seriously hard discussions. emotions are something that he holds in high accord, but he doesn't really want to shield them from the reality of the world's current situation. that doesn't mean he can't be funny, though, or light hearted. in fact, he's quite the jester when he wants to be, but that's the thing. he has to want to be. he doesn't pull out his cards for someone who's not going to appreciate it.
lastly, lets move onto his behaviour and habits. he usually always be seen with some form of alcohol on his person, or in the same room he's working in. before the apocalypse, he was a casual drinker, but he enjoyed it. now that there was going to be nothing left of the world, he's thrown all caution to the wind. he doesn't do his heavy drinking until after the sun goes down, so he doesn't have to burden too many people with worrying about him falling and cracking his head on something. he still writes, now, too. only instead of books, it's more of a journal amongst all his other scientific logs of knowledge. he's a determined guy, and he really doesn't know when to say enough is enough. especially when it's something he's passionate about.
friends would definitely be a yes. he wouldn't have many, but he wouldn't go around pissing people off in mater. authority figures, like the deputies, might be another story, considering he's never been a fan of the law, but he wouldn't make too much trouble. he cares a lot about people, and if he considers you a friend, that care just gets higher. he doesn't mind sticking his neck out for his friends, because that's exactly what he knows friends are supposed to be treated like. for felix, having his friends and cats around are the only things he needs to be happy. enemies could be fun to try and come up with. like i said, he wouldn't go around pissing people off, but i'm sure his general behaviour might be a little annoying. he doesn't fight, but he knows how, so if anything does come down to it, don't expect him to just stand there and let you beat on him. felix is a rather intelligent individual, however, who'd much rather throw sarcasm and intellectual insults your way than give you a bloody nose. lovers is kind of taken, considering he's got a fascination for one of the mater residents, jazmine. but! before anything happens there, if anything does happen there, it's not like he wouldn't be allowed to have some fun. he's a hopeless romantic, and charming people is something he finds easy to do. i wouldn't say he's a bit of a playboy, but he does enjoy spending intimate time with people- and by people, i mean either gender, because he really couldn't give a fuck what the outside looks like. i think he'll need someone to go to, in order to try and get over himself about jazmine. he might think that sleeping with someone else will make him forget all about her, or he could even try and go for a relationship there if jazmine doesn't seem to be catching any of his hints. it probably wouldn't last, though, i'm warning you now. whatever jazmine's writer wants in the end for her and felix is whatever's going down :D
