[atrb=width,240] victory never could be sweet when all else was lost. he had won the duel, fought noah in order to protect harley, yet ultimately lost as she made her choice to be with the very same person that was abusing her. the impact of which, combined with the trauma of his wounds, caused a mental relapse that concluded in the mind resetting to before any of the events occurred. before he fell in love. before he came to mater, to the point just around when he was at the end of his first semester of college. he was disoriented back then, completely lost and even more insecure than he was later on. he'd look in the mirror and turn away, finding his reflection revolting and thinking that no one could possible want to be around such a mug. but the reset wasn't brought on alone, toni, dex, howard, and sebastian were there when he recovered. sure, they played a foul trick on him by giving him false names to go off of, but they came clean and shared a laugh with him over it for the most part. now he was finding the majority of trouble in finding out so many things about himself over the time that he was here. from being with the team that broke in and rescued the captives from the resort the inmates used as their headquarters, to shooting noah twice on different occasions for some reason he still didn't know, all the way to seeing the way some woman (harley) stood in the way of noah after he shot alex for revenge. he couldn't make this road on his own though, he couldn't have gotten a step along without the help of the only person he could remember: natalia. tal was someone he knew from college, and one night he had a dream and saw a vivid image, one that occurred in the past, and he could recall all of the thoughts and feelings he had. he used to heavily fancy her but express it incorrectly and stupidly. but now he could properly show what he meant and felt, and seeing the smile on her face now felt like something more different than he had ever experienced in his life, or at least for as much as he could remember. he was a year behind, but his body was cut for more endurance than he thought possible. he had instinctual knowledge of how to fight as well as a pretty damn good shot. he couldn't remember ever shooting a gun, but from what he heard he was basically the residential james bond. after rescuing tal from a group of inmates one evening he found he had these abilities, as if his body wouldn't forget as much as his mind did, reacting accordingly with what he must've been taught to do while still about his own wits. now, however, he would trade it all if he could just remember everything, waking up to the middle of the apocalypse and being told he was involved in so much was a shock of course. but for life to take the turn it did now? it was even more bizarre. easy and relaxed legs led the way down the street in a slow slide along the ground, eyes keen in case of inmate ambush parties. he was one to give a fight of course, but if he heard another person in danger as he had with tal luckily just a few weeks ago he'd be off to be a hero again. but in his attentive watch he didn't notice the person coming around the corner, almost colliding with them. he straightened up with widened eyes before taking a step back and grasping his bag. "..sorry there" he spoke in his thick liverpudlian accent | [atrb=width,100] |
