This kind of life had been fairly easy for Carolina to adjust to. She had jumped around from different lifestyles when she was younger. Carolina was pretty sure that her family had not suffered when her father was around, but the year after he was gone was tough. Without the business and with all the threats, her mother had struggled to provide for her and her siblings... Carolina couldn't even remember them even if she wanted to, and she had forced herself not to even want to. After her family died in that fire which a part of her still felt guilty about, she was taken in by a family that was slowly growing wealthy. The older she got, the more wealthy she became. Cigarettes became more of a commodity than a luxury, and she certainly had the means to become and to do whatever she wanted. But then, the virus hit, and she was back at square one. They were eating rationed meals in a cafeteria, three times a day. They were using fucking birds to deliver messages. Technology had taken steps backwards because of those smartass scientists. Needless to say, Carolina was not too happy with them. In fact, she was not even too happy about letting scientists find a cure inside Mater. If it were up to her, they'd be in their own town, that way if they blew something up, it wouldn't wipe out the few people who were left. That was why she was slowly getting closer to Malcolm, so he would take her up as one of his deputies. Then maybe some real shit could get done in this "town," or whatever people chose to call it.
So now, Carolina was standing in line, waiting for the people in front of her to get a move on with their food. This almost reminded her of high school, or what little of it she actually attended (Carolina skipped a lot of it). You'd get your food at the lunch line then try to find a place to sit; somewhere that wasn't empty, so you didn't look like a loser. But of course, high school had its cliques, and so did Mater. Carolina didn't really mind. She had friends, she had enemies. One of her closest friends was Toni, a blonde ranger who had, ironically it may seem, the completely opposite past of Carolina. Toni used to be in the CIA, helping the government and its people, while Carolina used to be involved with a mafia, screwing over the government and its people. It was funny how things seemed to turn out, Carolina though, as she received a plate of mush and started walking over to a table. There were only a few open seats left, so she took the first she could find, not really caring who she was sitting near. She would just eat lunch and get on with her duties, but obviously one of the people she was sitting near thought otherwise as he/she spoke to her.
OPEN, 503 words, i would love it if someone joined <3

Jenna had spent the morning outside of Mater, something she almost did daily. The slender blonde believed it was important to maintain some habits from her past, and a good morning ride always seemed to put her in a good mood. Jenna wasnt the friendliest girl in Mater, but she wasnt a down right bitch either. When it came to getting along with Jenna the most important starting point was to give her respect, even if she didnt deserve it. Jen was a self serving individual, who prided herself on being a tough girl on the inside and outside. She would as soon as shoot you as befriend you. Jenna didnt like being approached by others, an obvious sign of how intolerant she was of social behaviors. If the slender blonde wanted to talk to you, she would approach you, something most around Mater understood, and few seemed to challenge. Jenna grinned as she pushed her sunglasses atop her head as she entered the crowded cafeteria. The slender blonde wasnt someone easily unnoticed either, as she had no problem showing a bit more skin then one should, especially in times like these. Jenna wasnt afraid of the inmates, whether that would prove to be foolish on her part, only time would tell.
Jenna was currently clad in a pair of denim cut off shorts, accented around her hips with a holster and two pistols, a white tank top which barley covered much, and a pair of western black boots that she had taken on the Rangers last outing. She made her way to the back of the line, for once actually respecting the rules. Though as she stood there for what seemed like forever, she became rather impatient. Jenna yelled at one of the servers, asking them to toss her a roll, and might I add she offered a very flirty look to get the task accomplished. The server, who happened to be male, offered her a friendly smile, and tossed a roll in her direction. Jenna caught it, winked, and began to walk around the cafeteria almost absent minded. She picked apart the roll as she made her way towards a table, not showing much interest in people who were either looking at her, or offered her a good afternoon. The slender Ranger didnt even notice that one of the deputies was sitting at the table she had chosen to stop at, until she had already sat down. Jenna didnt mind the deputies for the most part, she found them far more tolerable now that the inmates had taken over.
The inmates didnt seem to give a damn about Jenna coming and going out of Mater as she pleased. Jenna felt as though the deputies seemed to keep a closer tab on her activities, which she found both unnecessary and annoying. The slinky blonde thought she was perfectly capable of making her own judgements about her activities. It wasnt like she was endangering other Rangers with her activities, but for some reason a select few seemed to have a problem with her going off on her own little adventures. Jenna refused to live in fear like a good portion of Mater did. She only had one life to live, and she planned to live it to the fullest. She snapped from her thoughts, letting her dark eyes fall on the female deputy to her left. "How goes it deputy?" she said with a smile. Though her smile seemed neither friendly, nor kind, rather a tad forced. Jenna really wasnt in the mood to talk, but she couldnt just sit next to the law, and not offer at least a hello.
