Team Rocket takes over Kanto. A new law states that Pokemon Battles are illegal. Gyms were barred up and closed down. There were large riots that caused lots of fires and destruction especially in Celedon. If you get caught, jail wasn't the only punishment.....

Celadon City hasn't been the same since the Gyms closed down. Pokémon fighting has gone underground, and the sport has gotten a taste for blood. Trainers have been forced deep into the city's seedy underbelly to keep training, but the Pokémon aren't the only ones in danger. Now, trainers must choose to either become a master in the grim world of illegal pokémon fighting, or make a desperate stand to free them all from the criminal grip of Rocket Industries.People will remember the years when you could travel as a trainer and collect your badges. That is just a sheer memory.
